The atmosphere around Split Rock Resort felt vibrant and fun. I especially enjoyed the arcade. it reminded me of classic boardwalk fun with plenty of options for the kids. The breakfast at one of the on-site restaurants was tasty and reasonably priced, which kept everyone happy. I found the beds super comfy for a good night’s rest, a crucial aspect after a long day of activities. However, the pool area got overcrowded during peak times, making it less enjoyable. There were some maintenance issues too, as a few areas were dated and the furniture could definitely use an upgrade. Cleaning seemed a bit uneven. while our room was clean, some common areas didn’t have the same attention. Regardless of these hiccups, the location near the lake offered beautiful views that added to the experience. I appreciated the effort from the staff to ensure we had what we needed, but the facility itself requires some revitalization. I'd recommend it for a fun family getaway, just don't expect luxury housing.

We stayed in the Town Center Studio. The beds were super comfy, which was a nice plus after a long day. The place was clean, and I noticed they kept the essentials updated, like linens and carpets. The room has a bit of that 80s vibe, but it’s dated in a way that felt nostalgic. Breakfast was decent too, priced just right. Overall, it had a cozy feel for a family getaway.

The children's activities were a highlight during our stay, providing engaging entertainment for the kids. Breakfast options were satisfactory, with prices reflecting typical expectations. However, the room was quite dated, reminiscent of the 70s, with a bathroom that needed serious attention—the toilet wasn't functioning properly. The lack of frequent room cleaning was disappointing, as we had to request clean towels multiple times. Despite this, the beautiful surroundings offered plenty of outdoor fun, making for an enjoyable trip overall.

The setting of the lodge is beautiful and well-located for outdoor activities. We had a great time taking pictures of deer nearby and enjoyed renting kayaks across the lake. However, we were disappointed that many amenities, like the mini-golf and the water park, were closed during our stay, which was a major reason for our trip. The room also had some maintenance issues, like a leaking jacuzzi tub, which affected our overall experience.

We had a fun time during our stay, especially enjoying the indoor pool that catered well to our kids. The breakfast options were tasty and reasonably priced, which helped our mornings start off right. It's a beautiful area by the lake, perfect for a family getaway. However, the pool did feel a bit crowded at times, which was a slight drawback.

The room, a Willowbrook One Bedroom, was spacious and featured a full kitchen, which made our family stay very comfortable. Rose at the Lake View Tavern provided exceptional service during our dining experiences, ensuring that our large group was well taken care of. However, the indoor pool was overcrowded with teenagers who disrupted younger kids while the staff seemed ineffective at managing the situation. This impact on the pool experience was disappointing, particularly given the potential for family-friendly enjoyment.

Nature-filled Retreat with Room for Improvement
Our stay was a mixed bag. We enjoyed the beautiful wooded surroundings and saw deer daily, which was a great plus. The amenities like the pool and game room kept the kids happy. However, our room felt outdated and needed maintenance. Ensure you pack your meals as the kitchen was minimal.

I loved being just a few steps from the indoor waterpark and a short drive to Big Boulder Mountain, which made for a fun-filled weekend of exploring and relaxation in nature. The roomy condo I stayed in had a nice balcony overlooking the woods that really added to my experience.
